After talking to fellow students, I came up with a few tips to help you survive the first day of freshman year.

Thirty-three Ouachita students named to Who's Who

Thirty-three students from Ouachita Baptist University will be included in the latest edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Melissa Lee (back row, second from left) was named first place winner in the recent Virginia Queen Piano Competition at Ouachita. She is pictured here with contestants (front row, left to right) Felicity Johnson, Anna Weyenberg, Logan Moore and Josh Conard and (back row) Isabel Dodds, Tyler Sanders and Sam Youmans. Youmans won second place, Johnson won third and Weyenberg earned honorable mention.

It’s been four years, but I remember how stressed I felt when I was trying to decide between my top two college choices. I was torn and wanted to make sure that I picked the perfect home for the next four years of my life. My Ouachita admissions counselor made sure I knew everything I needed to know while choosing between OBU and another school, but she also shared some advice that was thoughtful, gave me more to consider and, in the end, helped me make my decision.

Ouachita to host Virginia Queen Piano Competition May 3

Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host its annual Virginia Queen Piano Competition Friday, May 3, at 3 p.m. The competition will be held in Ouachita’s McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center, and admission is free and open to the public.

Poon has performed in a multitude of countries across the world.

Ouachita Student Foundation named district Outstanding Student Advancement Organization, Selby Tucker named Outstanding Student Leader

Ouachita Baptist University’s Ouachita Student Foundation (OSF) recently was recognized as the Outstanding Student Advancement Organization for District 4 by the national Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Affiliated Student Advancement Programs (ASAP). OSF’s vice president, Selby Tucker, also was recognized as Outstanding Student Leader for the district.
